Green Gym

The West Lothian School Green Gym (WLSGG) is a newly developed three year Green Gym programme. With support from NHS Scotland we will coordinate and deliver a network of 12 self-sustaining School and ASN School Green Gym and 4 Youth Green Gyms to help increase levels of physical activity in young people. Our aim is to develop two support hubs in West Lothian, one in the East and one in the West. We will work with Schools to deliver a series of Green Gyms, while providing training to allow them to continue running Green Gyms in their school grounds and local Green Spaces.

Green Gyms are designed to be inclusive, and help children and young people engage with green spaces and learn about nature and the environment. They promote physical activity and can have positive impacts on mental wellbeing. Taking part in Green Gyms help you feel connected to nature, local green space and each other in a relaxed environment.
