The Rock Trust West Lothian Services
Housing SupportHousing First for Youth
Rock Trust in partnership with Almond Housing Association deliver the UK’s first Housing First for Youth service; providing fully furnished, permanent accommodation with high intensity, wrap-around support to care experienced young people with multiple and complex needs (aged 16 – 25). Choice is promoted where possible, particularly in relation to the property, furnishings and support. The Housing First for Youth staff adopt a ‘whatever it takes’ approach, providing high intensity, flexible support for as long it is required by the tenant.
Nightstop is designed to prevent or lessen the impact of homelessness by offering an alternative to the traditional emergency accommodation options of hotel, hostel or bed and breakfast. The Nightstop service provides young people between the ages of 16 and 25 in housing crisis with safe, emergency accommodation for short periods of time in the homes of approved volunteer hosts. Hosts with a spare room provide a young person a bed, food, and access to necessary utilities. They are provided full training by the Rock Trust team and dedicated 24 hour support when hosting a young person. This form of support is a vital way of providing at-risk young people with a safe space to stay, while the Rock Trust help them to find stable, long-term accommodation, and provide them with round the clock support that addresses their individual needs and challenges.
