The Samaritans

Samaritans offer confidential emotional support for people experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those that may lead to suicide.

The Samaritans are available 24 hours a day. They don’t make judgements or offer advice. Instead, they believe in the value of having time and space to explore difficult feelings. They also believe that being listened to in confidence, and accepted without prejudice, can alleviate despair and suicidal feelings.
There is no typical reason someone might call, just as there’s no typical person who contacts Samaritans. You can get in touch about anything that’s troubling you, no matter how large or small the issue.
