Trauma Counselling Line Scotland
Trauma Counselling Line Scotland (TCLS) is a telephone counselling service for anyone in Scotland who has experienced abuse in childhood and who meet one of these criteria:
• people from a minority ethnic background
• people who identify as having a disability (this includes mental ill health)
• people who live in a rural or remote area.
This includes people who have experienced childhood neglect, emotional, physical, sexual or spiritual abuse.
This service covers all of Scotland. You can call the line directly on 08088 020 406. This is a freephone number, and you can also access the service anonymously if you wish.
Through confidential support, survivors are able to address the issues that have affected them and understand how it has prevented them from living the life they want to lead. Through building their confidence they can take greater control of their lives.
Counselling sessions are available at a time which best suits individual people’s needs, and clients will work with the same counsellor each session.
The counselling team are fully trained in this area and both male and female counsellors are available from a range of ethnic backgrounds. Counselling is available in a number of languages, including Punjabi, Urdu, French, Polish and English.

Eligibility & Referrals
The service is for adults aged 16 or over who have experienced abuse in childhood (physical or emotional). The service is free to use and available through self-referral or direct referral.
