The Advice Shop is a free, confidential service open to anyone who lives in West Lothian.
Advice and assistance can be provided on a variety of matters, including:
- benefits advice
- money and debt advice
- energy advice
- housing advice
- welfare advice
- advice for ethnic minorities
Help is available with benefits issues such as checking your entitlement, help to make claims, appealing unfair decisions and representation at tribunal. The Advice Shop also offers a money advice service to help people deal with debts, energy advisors to assist with gas and electricity queries and assistance with housing problems including homelessness, rent arrears and landlord disputes.
Trained advisors are available to speak to daily from Monday to Friday in the Bathgate Partnership Centre – no appointment is needed. The Advice Shop also holds regular sessions and roadshows in towns across West Lothian.
